How Safe Is The Use of ATM/Debit Cards

Why Am I Being Asked For My PIN and Password?
|
- Most Nigerian banks are networked together through a company called Interswitch
Nigeria Limited.
- Looking behind your ATM/DEBIT Card, you will see the Interswitch logo (same one on the left hand side of this web-page).
- This network is the reason why your ATM Card works on other
banks' ATM machines.
- Interswitch's web-version of those ATM Machines is the platform which we are using on this website for
ATM/DEBIT payment.
- You are safe as long as you do not give out details of your ATM/DEBIT Card to
ANYONE including that guy that is trying to assist you with
this registration.
- We don't ask you for details of your ATM/DEBIT Cards on our website.
- Our website is directly supported by Interswitch Nigeria Limited and Guaranty Trust Bank.
- Our website redirects you to Guaranty Trust Bank's website.
- Guaranty Trust Bank passes you to Interswitch Nigeria Limited's payment portal.
- Interswitch then requires details of your ATM/DEBIT Card to be sure that it is
indeed you and not some "yahoo-boys".
- Once your identity is confirmed, Interswitch Nigeria Limited contact's your
bank.
- Your bank checks whether you have sufficient credit in your account and transfer
funds to Interswitch.
- Interswitch transfer's the credit to OAU's Postgraduate College Account.
- Interswitch redirects you back to our website.
- We query Interswitch for detail of the transaction you had on their site.
- A successful transfer required the three parties to be "available" and respond
on time - Interswitch, GTB and your bank.
